Think your high school still runs the 803? It’s time to prove it.
The inaugural 803 Alumni Classic brings graduates from high schools throughout the 803 area code back to the basketball court for a day of school pride, friendly competition, community and charity.
Alumni will assemble teams representing their alma maters and compete in a tournament for bragging rights and the inaugural 803 Cup. Teams will also have the opportunity to represent a local charitable organization, bringing an even bigger purpose to the competition.
Whether you graduated five years ago or 35 years ago, dust off those sneakers, find your old classmates and get ready to represent your school one more time.
And yes — teams CAN be co-ed!
Proceeds from the 803 Alumni Classic will benefit Carolina Celebration Collective and help support the production of 803 Day and its community programming.

The 803 Alumni Classic will feature alumni basketball, music, entertainment, vendors, concessions, contests, school spirit and plenty of opportunities to settle some old rivalries.

WHO CAN PLAY?
The 803 Alumni Classic is open to adult graduates of participating high schools located within the 803 area code.
Players must:
• Be at least 21 years old by the date of the tournament.
• Be a graduate of the high school they are representing.
• Provide their graduation year and additional verification if requested.
• Participate on only ONE team during the tournament.
• Complete the required player registration, waiver and release forms.
Former high school, college and professional basketball players are welcome to participate.
Teams may be all-male, all-female or co-ed. There is no required gender composition for a co-ed team.
This is alumni basketball — so whether you were the star point guard, sixth man, team manager or simply believe you still have a jump shot, we want to see you represent your school!
BUILD YOUR TEAM
Each participating school may register one alumni team consisting of:
• Minimum of 8 players
• Maximum of 12 players
• One designated Team Captain
• One Head Coach
• One optional Assistant Coach
The Team Captain will serve as the primary contact between the team and 803 Alumni Classic organizers.
Roster spots are limited, and submitting a registration does not guarantee acceptance into the tournament.
For the inaugural year, the tournament field will be limited to [8] high school alumni teams.

A citywide scavenger hunt will be available from 8:03AM - 8:03PM on Saturday, August 1st & Sunday, August 2nd, featuring the Soda City Certified (SCC) app. SCC is Columbia’s only app to promote local restaurants, events, shops, and attractions in the Midlands area. The scavenger hunt will feature 25 sites. We will allow an opportunity for 15 businesses to be featured during the scavenger hunt for $100.00.
HOW IT WORKS
Option One:
You will create a 4-digit pin code. A sign will be placed at your business with instructions utilizing a QR Code. If you would like participants to enter or patronize your establishment, you may ask participants to retrieve the pin code from staff once they have patronized or taken/shared a picture with your business and #803Day. Once they enter the pin code in the Soda City Certified app, they will collect 20 points. (Total possible points: 500)
Option Two:
A sign will be placed outside of your business with a QR Code. Participants will go to the website connected to the QR Code. They will search the page for a 4-digit PIN Code. The pin code will then be entered on the Soda City Certified app to collect 20 points. (Total possible points: 500)
The 803 Day 5K Run/Walk will be in Midtown Columbia in Forest Acres on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 8:03AM. Sponsorship opportunities include: your logo on the race t-shirt, winner gift cards, and water/healthy snacks.

Winner Sponsors:This year we will have 3 categories of winners: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for women and men. If your organization would like to sponsor, winner levels are as follows:
1st Place Sponsorship: $200.00 ($100 per gender)
2nd Place Sponsorship: $100.00 ($50 per gender)
3rd Place Sponsorship: $50.00 ($25 per gender)

In-Kind Sponsors: Each participant will need water and healthy snacks as they complete the race. We would like to have fresh fruit and water available.
